Glocal Green has been admitted to the EU-funded OASIS Accelerator programme, aimed at supporting green start-ups in the offshore renewable energy sector.
The company has been selected as one of nine participants for an intensive “Pressure Cooker” session in Ålesund in January 2026, focusing on training, coaching and networking.
The programme offers technical and commercial development support, meetings with potential end-users and investors, as well as mentoring from industry experts.
Participation gives Glocal Green increased visibility, new partnerships, and validation of its technology – positioning the company more strongly in the offshore renewable energy value chain.
Ålesund-based company Glocal Green, which develops green biomethanol from biological waste for industry and transport, is off to a strong start to the new year. The company has been selected as a participant in the EU-backed OASIS programme (Offshore Accelerator for System Integration and Storage).
As part of the programme, Glocal Green and other selected start-ups will gather for an intensive “Pressure Cooker” event from 19–22 January 2026 in Ålesund. The event will run as a compressed programme of workshops and meetings, with the goal of accelerating the path from idea to market for green offshore energy solutions.
The OASIS Accelerator is a holistic development programme for small and medium-sized enterprises within offshore renewable energy. Led by Dutch Marine Energy Centre (DMEC), the programme offers tailored support across three main areas: technological development, commercial development and sustainable design. For the selected companies – including Glocal Green – this means access to targeted training, advisory services and networks. Participants take part in professional seminars and workshops led by experts from the OASIS Advisory Board, which consists of industry specialists from leading energy and offshore companies.
The intensive Pressure Cooker week in January marks the programme’s peak. During this week, participants go through a tightly packed agenda combining technical, commercial and sustainability training with coaching and networking opportunities. The idea is to place companies in a “pressure cooker” environment where they can refine their technology and business models in a short period of time. According to ÅKP (Ålesund Knowledge Park), which hosts the gathering, a number of international offshore-sector actors will visit Ålesund during OASIS week. This gives Norwegian and international start-ups a unique arena for international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
A central element of the OASIS programme is networking with potential customers, partners and investors. During the Pressure Cooker week, Glocal Green and the other participants will present their solutions to an audience of established industry players. The agenda includes pitches and meetings with key stakeholders across the offshore renewable energy value chain. Glocal Green will have the opportunity to connect with heavyweights such as Equinor Ventures, Invest-NL, Subsea 7, NTNU and TenneT, among others. These actors – ranging from energy companies and investment funds to technology and research partners – may serve as valuable gateways for further development.
During the gathering, the nine selected companies, including Glocal Green, will present their technologies within areas such as offshore fuels, energy storage and green bunkering. The programme also includes contributions from established companies such as Seaonics and Stillstrom, as well as a panel discussion on opportunities in the emerging offshore energy market. This mix of start-up pitches and industry experience provides participants with a comprehensive view of the market they are entering.
For Glocal Green, participation in OASIS represents a significant opportunity to scale the business. Through the programme, the company gains increased market visibility and access to new collaboration opportunities – not only in Norway, but across seven countries in the North Sea region. In addition, the intensive training and feedback from industry experts provide valuable validation of Glocal Green’s technology and business model, strengthening trust among future customers and investors.
Another important gain is the positioning the company achieves within the offshore renewable energy value chain. Through meetings with key industry players and participation in discussions about future solutions, Glocal Green becomes more clearly visible to decision-makers across the sector.
The OASIS programme originates from the EU’s Interreg North Sea initiative, which focuses on green transition and innovation in the North Sea region. In total, the programme will support 30 start-ups through seven accelerator rounds in different countries. That Glocal Green has been selected at this early stage is regarded as a vote of confidence in the company’s technology and potential.
Following the intensive week in Ålesund, an follow-up phase awaits, during which Glocal Green will receive tailored feedback and advisory support for the road ahead. Lessons learned and connections established through OASIS will be translated into concrete next steps. The company has ambitions to establish its first commercial-scale production of green biomethanol, and the knowledge gained through the programme may serve as an important catalyst in realising this goal.
Glocal Green looks ahead to 2026 with a stronger position than ever. With fresh expertise, an expanded network and validation from the EU programme behind it, the company enters the new year with renewed confidence.
